Vessel Owning
ABO SHOTEN was established on March 14th, 1959 by acquisition of AKI KAISAN company limited, which was seafood wholesaler, at Onomichi, which has been known as a distribution center of maritime industry for long time. In September 1961, we built one tanker which is named as Anseimaru at Setoda shipyard and advanced into shipping business. From that time, we are continueing to do ship owning business.
We own and charter out mainly bulk carriers and chemical tankers and in 1971 we started ocean-going vessel business.
Now we own variouse kinds of vessels including chemical tanker, MR product tanker and Bulk Carrier (Supramax, Kamsamax, Handy size, Post Panamax and Cape Size). In addition, our Singapore branch, ABO SINGAPORE, owns chemical tanker and Bulk Carrier (Supramax).
One of the characteristics of our company's business is that we mainly do long-term bare boat chartering.（FLEET INFORMATION）We continue to do social activities based on regional community in the maritime city Onomichi and the seven seas.
